ABSTRACT
Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic macrofossils, chronologically important in Alaska and northern Canada, including the Hudson’s Bay region, are described and illustrated. The manual is directed toward the nonpaleontologically oriented geologists and is designed for use in field correlation. Emphasis is on fossil groups. Only important and/or easily recognizable genera and species are described. Animal groups stressed are fusulinid foraminifers, stromatoporoids, corals, brachiopods, pelecypods, cephalopods, trilobites and graptolites. Plant fossils are described briefly with emphasis placed on the lycopsids, ginkgos and angiosperms as reliable guides.
