The paper by Phillip Larson and Howard Mooers (2005) is an interesting attempt to document the glacial dispersal of one heavy mineral and then try to relate the mineral’s dispersal to their mathematical model for glacial indicator dispersal (Larson and Mooers 2004). The model then allows them to make conclusions about conditions at the base of the glacier, the erosion rates, and entrainment and deposition processes that occurred beneath the glacier.
