With the aid of a new range of measurable parameters, it is possible to develop a mathematical expression where the statistical distribution of only one of the parameters appears, other parameters being given by their arithmetic averages. In the case of platelets the problem is studied experimentally and theoretically. The mathematical expression is further simplified and it is shown that the most simple form, where lateral surfaces and size distribution are ignored, is one of the best, as the two approximations compensate each other.
