Abstract

A Rb/Sr whole-rock isochron gives an age of 1189 ± 32 Ma for the peralkaline granite of Lake Brisson. K/Ar data on amphiboles yield an age of 1163 ± 21 Ma, which further confirms our dating. Such an age allows the corresponding magmatism to be attributed to the late stage of the Gardar anorogenic province, which till now has been unknown in Labrador.
