Abstract

Twenty-five samples of altered silicic volcanic rocks associated with the Keweenawan altered basalts at Mamainse Point, Ontario, were analysed for major elements, Li, Rb, Sr, and Ba.Although other elements show no unusual abundances, Li is enriched in most samples, averaging 98 ppm, in comparison with equivalent fresh rocks elsewhere. It is probable that this enrichment took place during the alteration process.
