Abstract

The effective porosity of fractured till is obtained using two independent methods. The first method is based on tritium tracer studies, hydraulic head measurements and digital model simulations, while the second method is the mathematical evaluation described by Snow (1968) for fracture porosities of consolidated rock. The results are remarkably similar, suggesting an effective porosity of fractured till of about 0.0002.
