The authors are the couple László and Elsa Horváth, who have spent the last 20 years working on this monograph, along with the mineralogist Robert Gault and geologist Glenn Poirier. Interestingly, both the Horváths as well as Gault are autodidacts in mineralogy and have gained deep knowledge in this field. The now retired Robert Gault worked as a research assistent at the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa and has since 1991 been operator of the institution's electron microprobe.
