Donald D. Hogarth, a major contributor to our fields of investigation, passed away peacefully at home on December 4th, 2019. He was exceptional in the breadth of his knowledge and in his long-term focus on the mineralogy of rocks in the Gatineau district, north of Ottawa. Don Hogarth was born in 1927 in Toronto, the son of Donald MacDonald Hogarth (1878–1950) and Margaret Hogarth, née Paterson (1892–1991).
