The following remarks pertain to the paper of Atencio et al. (2010). First, I would like to say that the old (Hogarth 1977) classification of the pyrochlore minerals was not made by Hogarth alone, but was formulated after a 10-year period (1966–1976) of discussions and democratic decisions by the first Pyrochlore Subcommittee.
