This book is a selection of fourteen papers of regional studies, mostly on metamorphic and igneous rocks, thirteen of which are from the Hellenide orogen in Greece and one from the southeastern Alps. These papers, dedicated to Prof. Gotthard Kowalczyk, provide information mainly on the stratigraphy, petrology, structure, and tectonics in areas of the islands of Crete and Kythira, the western Peloponnese, and the Cyclades.
