Yes, book reviews have a purpose. Christy Vodden’s review of Proud Heritage (Geoscience Canada, June 2005) intrigued me, and I took note. Some eighteen months later, with a bit of free time on my hands, I decided to seek out and read the book. It was not available in my university library. To my astonishment, Proud Heritage is available in Canada through interlibrary loan only from two universities (Memorial, Saskatchewan), Nova Scotia Community College in Lawrencetown, and Library and Archives Canada in Ottawa. Clearly, this worthy book needs a boost. Here it is.
