The Young Scientist Award recognizes a young scientist who has demonstrated exemplary achievement and potential for their future career. Dr. Michael Schindler is this year’s recipient of the Young Scientist Award of the Mineralogical Association of Canada. From his Ph.D. thesis, he published several very incisive articles on various aspects of vanadium minerals and compounds, incorporating the idea of metastructures wherein complex groups of atoms can be identified.
