The Commission on New Minerals and Mineral Names (CNMMN) of the International Mineralogical Association (IMA) approved in 2002 a list containing the 4,000 or so minerals and mineral names on which the CNMMN has officially taken a decision since 1959 concerning their approval (A), discreditation (D), and redefinition (R); this list was updated in February 2004.
