A symposium entitled “S3: Sulphides, structures and synchrotron light” was held at the 2004 GAC–MAC annual meeting in St. Catharines, Ontario, in honor of Professor Michael E.L. Fleet, who had recently retired from the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Western Ontario.
