We thank the Editor for the opportunity to discuss further the evidence bearing on the timing of mineral growth in metamorphic rocks of the Rangeley stratigraphic sequence in the type area of Maine. In his discussion of our paper (hereafter S & B), Guidotti (hereafter G) has commented critically on various aspects of our work, but his criticism is based largely on misrepresentations and unfounded assertions. In this reply, we elucidate issues that in our opinion are misrepresented in G, and we refute the unfounded assertions.
