The cover image shows a view onto the Humboldt Range near Lovelock (Nevada), seen from the southeast. The paper “Quaternary Map, Active Faulting, Tectonic Geomorphology, and Uplift Rate of the Humboldt Range in the Basin and Range Province of Nevada, United States” (this issue) uses terrestrial cosmogenic nuclide (TCN) dating to measure the tectonic uplift rates of the range over the past ∼160,000 years. Uplift of the range is the result of repeated earthquakes along the rangebounding fault. The most recent movements are expressed by the abrupt scarp and presence of uplifted and abandoned alluvial surfaces along the rangefront.
