The stratigraphy and morphology of superposed pre-Wisconsin soils on Flaxville surface remnants (Alden, 1932) east of Waterton-Glacier Park can best be studed at Mokowan Butte (Fig. 1). The site is located on private land about 1.2 mi (1.9 km) east of the Waterton Park boundary and 3.6 mi (5.8 km) north ofthe International Boundary and is reached by driving about 21 mi (33.6 km) west of Cardston, Alberta, on a dirt road. The trip can be completed in a half day with a robust two-wheel or four-wheel drive vehicle. Landowners’ permission is not required.
