The secular evolution of the Permian seawater 87Sr/86Sr ratios carries information about global tectonic processes, palaeoclimate and palaeoenvironments, such as occurred during the Early Permian deglaciation, the formation of Pangaea and the Permian–Triassic (P–Tr) mass extinction.
