Abstract

The Iron Hill magnetite - garnet skarn deposit occurs at the contact of Quinsam granodiorite of the Jurassic Island Intrusions with basalt of the Triassic Karmutsen Formation and recrystallized limestone/marble of the Upper Triassic Quatsino Formation. This is the classical setting of Fe-Cu skarns in Wrangellia. NTS: 092F13; 49.863°N, 125.544° W, 457 m elevation.
