You represent the newest technique of waste disposal and potential environmental pollution. I represent the newest federal agency in the pollution control field, the Environmental Protection Agency. You are very interested in EPA, and we are very interested in you.

The gist of my message—from the Environmental Protection Agency to The American Association of Petroleum Geologists, and to everyone else who might use the injection-well method of liquid-waste disposal—can be summed up in six words: EPA, of necessity, is watching you!
