At the Nozawa asbestos mine of Hokkaido, Japan, rounded inclusions of perfectly fresh harzburgite occur in a nearly completely serpentinized matrix. Their origin is uncertain but the writer favors inclusion of fresh harzburgite brought into place within a largely serpentinized harzburgite.
