Name: Les Collades de Basturs carbonate platform

Author: Eulàlia Gili

Location: From 42° 09' to 10' north latitude and 1° 00' to 05' east longitude, south-central Pyrenees

Geologic time interval: Late Cretaceous (Santonian-early Campanian)

Tectonic-sedimentary setting: Transgressive wrench basin

Basin type: Wrench basin

Paleoclimate: Not well known

Platform type: Incipient shelf

Platform geometry: Up to 550 m wide and 4000 m long

Facies and fossils: Nodular limestones, calcareous nodules, marls, and rudist limestones; benthic foraminifera, algae, sponges, corals, bryozoa, brachiopods, mollusks (mainly rudists), and echinoderms

Systems tracts: Calcareous rudist platform, foreslope, open shelf, outer shelf

Stacking patterns: Not determined
