A miscellany of geometric constructions, graphs, charts, templates, and nomographs are described briefly. These procedures and devices facilitate conventional refraction computations. Included are (1) a method of constructing surface-to-surface refraction rays through multiple layers; (2) charts, templates, and nomographs applicable to depth computations for refractions through discrete layers; (3) coincident (critical) refraction distance, mirage distance, and general refraction-angle charts; and (4) charts for refractions through velocity sections wherein velocity is Vo+Kz or Vo(1+Kz)1/2.
