Processing problems are quite different when considering pure shear wave propagation (i.e., SHSH and SVSV) or PS converted waves. A pure shear wave processing sequence is basically similar to a conventional P mode processing sequence, provided that birefringence can be ignored. A converted mode processing sequence (PS or SP) implies the correct gathering of the data, which can be a delicate step, to condition the final resolution.
