Basic Geologic Mapping, by Lisle, Brabham, and Barnes (2011), is a small-format, paperback book intended for use by geology students in Great Britain. The preface to the fifth edition states that the purpose of the book is to “offer a practical guide for the student undertaking a mapping project with a minimum of resources and academic supervision.” The book's 217 pages contain 11 short chapters and Appendices A through D, with references and an index.
