    ON COVER – An outcrop located in the Lianyuan sag in the middle of the Yangtze Platform in South China. The stratum is the Carboniferous Ceshui Formation (C1d2). The main lithology of the stratum is gray-white fine sandstone and siltstone, with gray thin mudstone and multiple layers coal with thickness approximately 5–20 cm (∼2–8 in.). The main sedimentary structure is large-scale cross-bedding. The sedimentary microfacies are tidal channel and swamp. Photo submitted by Chuangyan Huang.
