Luo et al. (1994) discussed the distribution and possible origin of a three-fold pressure system in the eastern Delaware basin. The pressure data presented in their pressure vs. depth plots were exclusively derived from drill-stem tests (DSTs), although they contend that the overpressure is also confirmed from well log responses. The paper is weakened by incorrect source of pressure data from DSTs, and also by poor understanding and inadequate review of the basis for overpressure generation in sedimentary basins.
