Three major points are raised by Willis (1994) concerning our paper (Wise and Obi, 1992) on Laramide stress orientation in the evolving Bighorn mountain front. He argues (1) that we rotated our data about the wrong trend of the mountain front, and hence the results are invalid or suspect, (2) that the mineralization on the faults may be Precambrian, and hence these faults have no bearing on Laramide tectonics, and (3) that his particular interpretation (his Figure 6) of the Five Springs mountain front should have been integrated into our discussion.
