I would like to make two short comments about the paper by Leckie and Walker (1982).

(1) The definition of cross-bedding illustrated in Figure 16 and cover as herringbone is not very convincing to me. The inclination of “foreset” laminae seems smaller than the angle of repose, the dip pattern (Fig. 15, unit 10B) looks more three-modal (if not periclinal) than bi-modal, and the geometry is not much different from what is described as “swaley cross-stratification” and interpreted as a “storm-dominated structure” (Fig. 6 and p. 143).
