In a recent paper Nicholas and Rozendal (1975) elaborated on data presented earlier (Rozendal and Erskine, 1971) concerning a deep test of the Ouachita structural belt in Hill County, Texas. Steenland (1973), in discussing the 1971 paper, disclosed that magnetic data (Steenland, 1970) decisively outlined buried Ouachita elements but this significant geophysical fact is neither discussed nor referenced by Nicholas and Rozendal in 1975. This omission marks a failure in both the editorial function and the practice of geophysical exploration.
