The AAPG Committee on Computer Applications to Geology was established to advise and assist the membership in the use of these modern exploration tools. The committee has sponsored technical sessions, short courses, and seminars in an effort to provide a useful service to the industry. However, it is apparent that older geologists, already established in their professional careers, are not the ones who will exploit the capabilities of computers to their fullest. This task must fall to younger workers, now in their graduate education, who can be trained in the necessary mathematics, statistics, and computer science with comparatively less trauma....
