Abstract

In spite of the fact that most purely structural anomalies in the United States have been drilled for petroleum there remains much petroleum to be found in stratigraphic and combination traps, and where fluid pressure is a factor in formation of a pool. Examples of stratigraphic pools are given for Mid-Continent and Rocky Mountain areas. Testing of flanks of anticlines and synclines for combination traps is recommended even though anticlines when tested on the crests proved dry.
