Abstract

The independent geologist has the advantages of incentive and reward, freedom of action and decision, and of a multiple market. The company geologist engaged in petroleum exploration has the advantages of security, large economic resources, and vast information. The geologist of either type who makes full use of basic advantages and a real effort to minimize disadvantages will increase the efficiency of his exploration work. For the company-employed geologist to accomplish this, he must have the cooperation and understanding of an enlightened management.
