During the past few years, at the request of the United States Bureau of Indian Affairs, the United States Geological Survey has been making a groundwater investigation of the Navajo and Hopi Indian Reservations, located principally in Arizona and New Mexico. During this investigation, considerable geologic information has been accumulated which, as yet, has not been published. This note has been prepared to present new information on the Pliocene Bidahochi formation prior to the preparation of a complete report on the stratigraphy of the unit.
