Since the recent discovery of the Clear Creek gas field in Carbon County, Utah, much attention has been focused on studies of the Cretaceous stratigraphy of that region. Of particular importance in these studies has been the determination of the source direction of the highly productive Ferron sandstone member of the Mancos shale.
