During September, 1951, a National Petroleum Convention was held in Caracas under the auspices of the Venezuelan Government with the cooperation of the Venezuelan oil industry. The meetings were attended by a great number of prominent oil men from throughout the world. The success attained by the convention was due in major part to the officials of the Ministerio de Minas e Hidrocarburos of Venezuela.
