Nardin and Henyey (1978), while jumping aboard the “global tectonics” bandwagon, have overlooked my paper, “Structural Evolution of Wilmington, California, Anticline” (Truex, 1974), perhaps the best documented and detailed case history of a limited part of their area of study. They are guilty also of failing to read carefully one of their own references, “Geology and Development of California’s Giant—Wilmington Oil Field” (Mayuga, 1970).
