The upper Pleistocene marine terrace 4 in the Bluff Cove area of the Palos Verdes Hills is offset by a growth fault that extends from underlying Miocene rocks through the terrace deposit and the overlying soil. Movement on this fault continued during late Pleistocene into Holocene time.
