Five dry test wells were drilled in North Carolina, 2 in Dare County, 1 in Lee County, and 2 in Carteret County. The Lee County well is of special interest because it was drilled within the Deep River Triassic basin. No other oil tests were drilled in the region, although test holes and exploration were carried on offshore.
