Abstract
Eastern and northwestern Colorado and western Nebraska experienced a drop in total drilling activity in 1970. The Denver basin received most attention, with several significant discoveries and an improved success rate. Increased activity in that area is indicated for 1971.
Exploratory drilling and success declined in both southeastern and northwestern Colorado; development drilling remained about the same in the former area and decreased drastically in the latter, though with an increased success rate.
