Recent work by the writers north of the Snake River plain has revealed the presence of a thick sedimentary sequence of probable Cambrian age in the southern Beaverhead and Lemhi Ranges of east-central Idaho (Fig. 1). This section provides a link between the extensive area of known Cambrian of the cratonic shelf in southwestern Montana and the isolated occurrences of demonstrated and presumed Cambrian rocks in central Idaho.
