A recent completion of considerable interest is the well of the Mirando Oil Company on section 114 of the Hinant Ranch, in the northeast corner of Zapata County, about 35 miles east-southeast of Laredo. The producing oil sand was found at about 1425 feet which, from three to five feet in, flowed at the rate of 75 to 100 barrels per day (estimated) until the available storage of about 1100 barrels had ben filled. It was then shut in, awaiting the arrival of further storage, and since that time it is reported to be a very small pumper.
