Fossil occurrence.—Fossils are rare in the Mesaverde group of the San Juan basin, New Mexico; therefore any new discoveries of diagnostic forms merit attention. In the course of field work in May, 1960, the writers collected ammonites from a locality at the northwest side of Dalton Pass, McKinley County, New Mexico, in the SW. 12 of Sec. 14, T. 17 N., R. 14W.
