The following report mainly concerns gas reserves, but also refers to oil reserves where these are related. Throughout the report, for the sake of brevity, we have used “oil” for “crude oil plus condensate,” i.e., for “liquid hydrocarbons,” and we have used “gas” for “natural hydrocarbon gas.” Statistics on estimated gas reserves have been furnished, always as letter symbols, by some 25 geologists and engineers in different parts of the country, and all such estimates have been checked and re-checked for reliability.
