ABSTRACT
Exploratory drilling decreased slightly in Oklahoma during 1955, although development drilling was up 6 per cent over the 1954 total. West Short Junction and North Madill oil fields apparently will harbor reserves of major importance and the Cherokee trend in Grant and Alfalfa counties is of interest because of its length, about 25 miles, by one mile wide. Seismic activities were down 14 per cent from the previous year. Secondary-recovery projects accounted for 39,240,000 barrels of oil, an increase of about 3,000,000 barrels over 1954, or a 9 per cent increase. These projects account for 20 per cent of the total oil production in Oklahoma.
