What does geological education cost? The data summarized here may help to answer this question. The accompanying charts were complied from the results of a questionnaire sent to 90 representative State and private universities and colleges in the United States in February, 1955. The questionnaires asked for total yearly expenditures and total yearly enrollments in geology (including geography), physics, chemistry, and biology (including botany, bacteriology, and zoology). Fifty-seven schools replied with data on geology, and 24 of these also replied with data on all of the sciences.
