Exploratory drilling, as well as development drilling, increased very slightly in Oklahoma during 1954. As has been the case in the several past years, exploratory activity has failed to uncover any fields of major importance during the past year. Secondary-recovery projects recovered more than 36,000,000 barrels of oil in 1954 or one-fifth of the oil produced during the year. This is about a 3% increase over the previous year. Leasing activity decreased while geophysical activity increased very slightly over the previous year.
