Since June 1, 1949, graduate students from the University of Oklahoma have mapped approximately 1,600 square miles on the south and west flanks of the Ozark uplift in northeastern Oklahoma. This work was sponsored by the Oklahoma Geological Survey in conjunction with the new State Geological Map of Oklahoma now being compiled under the direction of Hugh D. Miser of the United States Geological Survey.
