One hundred and nine wells were drilled in 1950 in western and northern New Mexico compared with 43 wells in 1949.
Thirty-two wildcat wells were drilled in 1950 in western and northern New Mexico as compared with 11 wildcat wells in 1949.
Seven wells, all of which were wildcats, were drilled in 1950 in Arizona compared with 4 wells in 1949. None was commercially productive.
Eighteen wildcat wells were drilled in the San Juan basin in New Mexico in 1950, 10 of which were commercially productive.
