ABSTRACT
An increase in drilling activity occurred in Kentucky in 1950 resulting in a substantial gain in oil production. Western Kentucky accounted for both of these increases. Most of the gas development took place in the Big Sandy gas field of eastern Kentucky though some increase in production was made in Knox County. There was little activity elsewhere in the State and drilling to the St. Peter and Knox horizons dropped sharply.
